I started writing the Independent Bloghorn a year ago from May 27th. I figured that in celebration I would link to what I think are the top ten best posts so far. Also, I will answer Jake’s question of where the “independent” in independent Bloghorn comes from. I wish I had some sexy story that I chose this word because I see myself as a source of fiercely independent opinion. For example, when someone criticizes me for not being rigorous on my blog, I might just choose to make my posts even more rhetorically abstract just to bother that person. However, I know that if I give some kind of reason behind the word, Jake will come back with some lengthy psychobabble about how I’m conforming to non-conformity and those who proclaim to be most independent are the most dependent and blah, blah, blah. Unfortunately, the title of the blog is as much an exercise in search engine optimization and domain name availability, as it is a word that has some deeper meaning. So, sorry Jake, I wish I had a better reason. You are welcome to project your own definition for me.
